Visual storytelling and journaling with photographs has always been an important form of personal expression for me. There is great satisfaction in documenting great experiences. By creating a sort of diary entry of important personal relationships, events in my life and, of course, travels, there is great joy in having that record and the memories worth recording.

I have evolved this personal approach and incorporated it into my work with professional portrait sessions and event coverage. Documenting for clients is a balance between a personal touch and a professional demeanor. My calm on the set gives room for creativity and collaboration.

I find the challenge is not only to document life’s important events but also to evoke both the expansive and intimate details of an instant. The enjoyment found working with people and conveying their experience seeks to capture deeply personal moments, moods, and expressions by combining light and motion to tell a story with passion and beauty.

With a BA from TCU, I continued my fine art education at the School for the Visual Arts in New York and launched AEC Photography followed by the partnership, Sweet Pea Photographers, a family lifestyle and portrait studio. My work has been published in Dance Magazine, The Village Voice and ColorLines; I have exhibited work in New York at the Out of Place Gallery and in the Giorgi Gallery in California.

Based in New York City, I am available for work both locally and abroad.
